The triathlon event will cause traffic restrictions on Sunday, 10 May, between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm in several areas of Salou
Due to the celebration of Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada 2026, a special traffic operation will be implemented on Sunday, 10 May, coordinated between the event organisation, the Catalan Traffic Service (Servei Català de Trànsit), Mossos d’Esquadra and the Salou Local Police, with the aim of ensuring the safety of all participants and minimising traffic disruptions.
The event will involve temporary road closures between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm in different areas of the municipality.
The main affected areas will be:
- C-31B highway (Salou – Tarragona motorway)
- Andorra Avenue
- Jaume I Promenade
- Europa Square
- Pedrera Avenue
- Camí del Racó towards C-31B (Xalets de Salou area)
Throughout Sunday morning, the different starts of the Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada 2026 will take place, including both the Middle Distance and Short Distance races, with courses running through several key points of Salou and along the C-31B highway.
The organisation recommends planning journeys in advance and following all instructions provided by security personnel and event staff during the day.
In addition, Jaume I Promenade and the Platja de Llevant area will host much of the event activity, including the start and finish lines, as well as the triathlon Expo area.
The organisation would like to thank residents and visitors for their understanding and cooperation regarding these measures, which are necessary to ensure the smooth running of the event.
