Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada to crown Catalan Middle Distance champions in 2026

The event will combine world-class triathlon racing with the best regional talent in a truly international setting

Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada 2026 continues to strengthen its position as one of the leading events on the international calendar after being confirmed as the host of the Catalan National Middle Distance Championship.

Already established within the Challenge Family circuit, the event will bring together some of the world’s top professional triathletes, offering a €25,000 prize purse, and forming part of the international series that culminates in the Challenge Family World Championship in Samorin (Slovakia).

With more than 65% international participation, Challenge Salou stands out as a truly global event, attracting athletes from all over the world. At the same time, this international dimension is combined with a strong commitment to local sport and regional development.

In this context, the race will host the Catalan National Middle Distance Championship, where the male and female Catalan champions will be crowned, strengthening the link between elite international competition and the regional sporting structure.

Next May, Salou will once again become a hub for triathlon, offering a fast and spectacular course along the Mediterranean coast, designed for peak performance and an outstanding experience for both professional and amateur athletes.

The event is organised by Challenge Salou – Costa Daurada, with the support of the Catalan Triathlon Federation and local institutions, reinforcing a model that combines international projection with strong local roots.

Registrations are now open via the official website www.challenge-salou.com, and a high-level field is expected for an edition that will once again place Salou firmly on the global triathlon map.
